For more than 80 years three generations of the Prescott family have provided the Coromandel Peninsula area with professional tractor, vehicle and farm machinery sales and service.
From the mid 1930’s when Prescott’s Garages Ltd commenced operating they offered not only a bus, freight carrying and taxi service but they also ran a motor repair shop from their small premises in Hikuai. In the 1980’s they then made the move into sales initially dealing in Shibaura and Ebro tractors and later becoming a John Deere Dealership in 1983, a dealership they held for 28 years.
1996 saw Prescott’s Garages relocating to the intersection of SH25 and Hikuai Settlement Road into purpose built premises that included a service station, convenience store and full workshop, with qualified car and tractor mechanics providing a wide range of services including WOFs, towing and salvage, mechanical services and repairs.
Over the years Prescott’s have expanded their sales department to become licenced dealers of ride on mowers, tractors, utes and SUV’s as well as farm machinery to meet the ever-expanding farming, domestic, orchard and lifestyle block market in the Coromandel.
